Jason moved closer to Irene when he heard Atticus approaching closer. He heard something heavy lash out at them and immediately ducked. While covering his head and crouched down, Jason moved closer to Atticus. Once Irene had seemingly stopped whatever was swinging wildly at her, Thoth's champion rubbed his hands together quickly and breathed into the movement.
Irene's outburst when being called a liar seemed to be over which meant Jason had to move quickly. He shot up, grabbed the man's wrist and pressed one hand into his chest. "Mshtuko," he breathed the word out calmly, almost in a murmur. A electrifying shock ran down the boy's arms and into the other man's chest and arms, enough power to send him flying back a bit.
Not pausing, he raised his hands to the sky and slowly dragged them down in front of him. Clouds began swirling around up above them. The rain started pouring harder and thunder was rumbling and growling, getting louder and louder as Jason kept moving. He angled his head in a way where one ear was closer to the sounds of the storm brewing. "I'm sorry about your sister, but Zeus is the asshole. Not her," Jason had to shout over his storm. "This grudge against someone who has done nothing but exist and get picked by the wrong God is moronic. I expected better from a Leader."

Atticus smirked as the girl began cowering from the knife hits, so much so that he barely paid Jason any attention until the boy landed an attack on him. He barely had any time to process the girl's commentary before the attack landed and he flew back from the force of the blast. He kept his feet on the grand, wincing as the force dragged him back, his feet sliding against the ground as he put his hand to his chest and let out a few heavy breaths.
"Don't speak of her, you little overpowered brat," Atticus hissed at Jason, "and you know nothing. You are nothing."
He stood to his full height, glaring at the boy for a few more seconds before his eyes narrowed, "who cares what some 16-year-old from Los Angeles thinks? We both know your dad doesn't."
Having said that he looked back at Irene, arms crossed over his chest in a defensive manner, though he seemed amused at her predicament. She had been laughing, and he too started chuckling. "That's good to know, it will complicate some things for the arrangement, after all, we have no need for a useless leader. No bargaining material there," he mused to himself, shaking his head at his words and analyzing Irene once again, the lacerations and wounds he inflicted, and smirked again, "it'll hurt Zeus more to keep you alive after whatever you did to get him to abandon you. I have to commend you for that. However, you no longer are of any importance."
Pulling his phone out from his pocket, he opened up his contact with Ripley, beginning to type as he spoke some more, "well then, I'll be on my way, more to report and more to plan, you know how it works. Or well, you did," he chuckled slightly, finishing his message on his phone.
He then hit sent and pocketed his phone and turned, walking away, the rain pelting down on him as he broke away from the two Ascendants and disappeared back into the streets of Venice.
Message to Ripley Gates: The girl has been abandoned by Zeus. She was planned to be neutralized, but she no longer poses any threat to us nor does she carry any importance. Given that we have the Champion of Rán, we have 5 more leaders to neutralize. Go ahead with Step 2 of the plan.

Jason stayed quiet at Atticus’s outburst. If he’d rather Jason speak badly about his sister then he’d make a note of it for next time. If he knew nothing and was nothing then his words should have no effect.
His face scrunched up in anger at the mention of his dad. He hadn’t thought about that person in so long. He was doing better not thinking about him. And now he was reminded that he still shared a name with that person.
Still he stayed quiet, shaking in anger and exhaustion as he focused on the spell brewing above their heads. He waited. Waited until he couldn’t hear Atticus’s footsteps anymore. Continued to hold off from attacking him as he retreated. And finally, after a while of nothing but the rain and his ragged panting, he let the spell go, incomplete and collapsed to the ground.
He lay on his back and let the small drizzle of rain touch his skin and cool him off. Helped to ground him as he caught his breath. His chest felt tight, his muscles felt weak and continued to shake visibly.
He just lay there for a while until he heard his phone chime.
Blindly, he blinked away water that landed on his eyelashes and took out his phone from his pocket. He held it out towards where he thought Irene was and between breaths asked her to read who it was from and what it said.~~~~~~~~~ Ripley didn’t bother responding to Atticus. Just took out Laurie’s phone that he swiped from his back pocket and started typing out a message.
~~~~~~~~ A text sounded on all of the Ascendent’s phones. Pings, buzzes, alerts, and vibrations all sounding at the same time as a text message came through from Laurie and read as such:“Hello Champions of Wave 2. Or I guess your Gods call you “Wave 1” I believe we have something you lost. Why don’t we meet to discuss terms?” Another message sounded on the phones. This time a photo.
The missing ascendents laying on their backs or stomachs, trapped under the massive paws of Fenrir as he lay before them, staring intently at the camera. The wolf looked mostly annoyed to be in a photo but content enough to sit still. Especially with someone’s arm and leg hanging out of his mouth.
Haleema’s arm and leg.
Blood was dripping down the limbs and onto the ascendents being held down. The rest of her body wasn’t visible but there was noticeable fresh blood around the wolf’s mouth.“He got a bit of a head start. I’ll give you 10 seconds to respond to save the rest. Pay attention!😘” “10” Reached Lucien's phone first with a buz. The message came directly from Pascal's own phone. The only contact he seemed to have saved.“9” Guinevere received the next message from Laurie.“8” Haleema's phone sent to Irene.“7” Lane got from Daniel's phone. How sweet getting a message from the person you're crushing on.“6” Was sent into the Coffee group chat consisting of Griffin, Guinevere, and Ariella from Laurie.“5” Haleema's phone messaged Dillon.“4” Laurie told Theo. Seemed like Laurie was a pretty popular guy around this group“3” Laurie sent to Luka. They seemed to be pretty close. Wonder how she'd react.“2” Echo didn't have many contacts aside from his boyfriend, the dead boy, and the first person that got a countdown number. And there weren't going to be any purposeful repeats. But, It wasn't hard to find the Jason boy's number and send him a countdown too.
Finally, the last number reached the leader's chat from Haleema. Giving them the absolute last second to respond."1" This was the only group chat he'd accept an answer from.
Guinevere Sharpe
Guinevere has her phone clenched in her hand as she slept beside Griffin. In her rest, she has gravitated towards him, cuddling the other with her head nestled by him. She woke up when the annoying thing rang sharply, and blearily she groaned, burying her head into Griffin more and groaning when a few seconds, another notification went off.
Blearily, she grabbed the device to tell everyone in the groupchats to shut up, but her eyes widened when she spotted who sent the message.
"Laurie?!" She choked out, voice happy and shocked as she pulled up one of the messages.
She blanked when she read it, gasping for air as she started shaking. A gag escaped her at the horrible sight, and she started repeating the same word again and again.
"No. No. No. No! NO! NONONO!" The cries escaped her, her eyes filling with terrified tears quickly as she stood up, legs wobbly beneath her. She didn't take anything around her into account, instead she started texting the number back, pleading not to hurt anyone. When she realized it would likely do no good, she ran out, scanning for any of the leaders who were awake.
Lucien had just been about to head down to the leaders’ room to try and come up with some sort of plan after the failure of their last mission. In fact, he’d just risen from his bed when he felt a buzz in his pocket.
The blond fished out his phone, and his heart could’ve stopped when he saw the name that had flashed on the screen.
Laurie?
If that weren’t enough, he opened the messages to reveal an image which made him feel sick to his stomach. He couldn’t read the message for a moment, feeling so affected by the sight of the image it was practically like he couldn’t see.
A meeting? Terms? He could barely focus, unable to tear his arms from Haleema’s arm and leg hanging from Fenrir’s mouth. But he had to try and focus. Whatever this person was talking about, the kidnapped kids were at stake here.
Before he had time to react, his phone buzzed a second time. This time from Pascal’s phone, appearing below a few exchanged messages about Medbay supplies, medical stuff, that kind of thing.
Just the number 10.
The boy was feeling sicker by the second, but took off running for the leaders’ room.
————
Lane had been in the middle of her tense conversation with Styx when her phone buzzed. If this were any other situation she’d be questioning how the underworld had cell phone service, but this wasn’t really the time. A question for Hermes for another day, perhaps.
She pulled out her phone, looking at the names on the screen. First Laurie’s name, then… Her breath left her when she saw Daniel’s name flash up on the screen. Her hand was already shaking as she unlocked the phone to open the messages. She went pale as she took in first the message and image from Laurie and the message from Daniel.
Instantly she turned the phone screen toward Styx with the image on it.
”What the hell are your lot doing to my friends?” she questioned, her speech devoid of its usual bubbly or lighthearted tone to be replaced with rage.
_____
Dillon had been in the leaders’ room with Cleo when his phone buzzed, the boy fishing it out of his pocket and almost dropping it when he saw the name that had show up.
Laurie. There was no way, it couldn’t be.
He opened it so quickly he didn’t even remember unlocking his phone, letting out a shocked cry at the image that popped up on his screen. What the hell, what the hell, oh what in goddamn hell…?
And while he looked with shock at Haleema’s limbs hanging from Fenrir’s mouth, her name popped up on his phone screen. A simple message with a number. A countdown.
Then, another message from Haleema, this time from the leader’s group chat. The British boy was just about to rapidly type out a message, only for Lucien’s name to pop up with a response before he could even finish typing.
’Where and when?’
Shortly after the message, Dillon could hear footsteps rushing down the hallway only to be followed by the door to the leaders’ room bursting open. Lucien stood there, phone in hand, chest heaving as he had clearly just sprinted from his room to the leaders’ room.
He looked terrified, so much so he didn’t even seem to be taking much in. Dillon just pulled out a chair for him, watching at the teenager dropped into the seat, eyes still fixed on the phone screen waiting for a reply.
Luka Ravina
The last thing Luka remembered was a strange sequence of events. Chiara hurt, Ariella hurt, pain, River's voice, Lucien's worry, and blood. A lot of blood. A lot of blood.
As her eyes opened, she could still see it, painting that wolf's muzzle. Red eyes glared at her, and his voice grated on her ears, "I'm not done with you yet, little Chosen of Loki," he growled.
She felt frozen in place, hugging her arms to herself and over the wounds she could feel still bleeding. His eyes locked on the movement, amusement flickering, and before she could question where Theo, Ariella, or Chiara went, the wolf lunged and her vision came to life in a series of colors.
Noise was the first real thing she took in as she breathed in heavy breaths. Harrowing cries and panic and footsteps. Eyes opening and flying around, Luka gasped for breath as she pulled her legs up to her chest, blinking the wetness in her eyes away. Her heart thundered in her chest, and she closed her eyes again to concentrate on her breaths.
Her phone was buzzing, but she ignored it for the time being. She was scared, terrified, she could feel death staring at her, she could feel fangs in her flesh, she could feel her blood drizzling down her limbs, her body dying, her vision blacking out.
Why was her phone buzzing?
Reaching over to the bedside counter, she grabbed it, although messy and inaccurate, her eyes locked on the lockscreen as she tried to remember her passwork. The device shook in her hold, and yet when she turned it towards her face, the screen unlocked and her phone indicated she had new messages. From Laurie.
Her gaze locked on that, filled not with hope, but with dread. Especially as her gaze skittered to the leader's groupchat, from Haleema.
She tapped on the last message, seeing a simple number. 1. Plus a new message popped up, from Lucien.
Her eyes lingered on the Where and when and she swallowed the fear in her body as she scrolled up.
Haleema, hanging from Fenrir's mouth like a chewtoy. The phone dropped from Luka's hands, and she let out a harsh breath, hearing it clank against the ground. She wondered, distantly, if that's what she looked like the night prior.
Gaze unfocused and panicked, Luka pulled herself up, stopped by a tug on her arm. Glaring at it, she noticed a needle embedded in her skin.
She looked at it, deciding it was only in the way, and grabbed at it harshly, pulling at it in her panic to get up and move. She felt a painful sensation she ignored on her arm and leapt from the bed, unsteady on her legs as she collapsed down and blindly reached out for her phone.
She opened up the leader's groupchat again, ignoring the feeling of blood making a trail down her arm, glaring at the message. Her own reply joined it, When and where, bitch?
Sending it, the girl stood up again, grabbing the phone in her injured arm and cradling her other one against the blood from the torn out IV, shakily making her way towards her belongings she left last night and her umbrella. After all, there was a meeting to be had. She opened up Laurie's contact and dialed it, raising the phone to her ear, waiting for Ripley to answer.
It was later in the morning, after breakfast in bed that Theodore managed to put together. He wasn’t tired enough to get more sleep, so he ended up spending the morning getting cleaned up from last night. No dried blood or grime, and like he’d noticed earlier, not even a scratch on him. Bizarre for sure, but he couldn’t complain.
So he stood in his room, eying two different sweaters on his bed, he noticed a ping going off on his phone. Absent-mindedly, he picked it up and checked what the notification was for. A message. From Laurie?
“4”
4?! Theo’s mind blanked out any context that surrounded the message as a strain of thoughts entered his brain.
“A 4?!” Theo typed to the number, “Sir, I am at least a 9”
It took him already sending the message for him to fully grasp the context of everything. It was Laurie’s number. Laurie was missing. The threats. The photo… the realization almost made the man want to puke, but he held it in the best he could. What was going on? Who had Laurie's phone? And why...
Grabbing one of the sweaters, Theo quickly pulled it over his head and burst out of his room to the last place he saw people. The Medbay. He ran quickly, so quickly he didn’t even notice his sweater was on backwards.
Soon he stopped at the doorway, heaving out a breath as he looked inside. Guiney, Griffin, and Ariella were gone, and….
“Luka!” Theo called when he spotted her, rushing over to her, “You’re awake and- why are you out of bed!?” The trail of blood down her arm was already concerning, but considering her condition the night before? He had no idea if she was supposed to be well enough to be moving around.
Laurie's phone picked up after a couple of rings.
“Recovered so soon?” was the growled response. The smile could almost be seen spreading across his fangs. Red eyes gleefully glaring down at the device i front of him, imagining the child there instead.
His tongue could be heard licking his jaws. “Your little healer friend got to you then. Good. That’s good,” he observed a cruel chuckle rising from his throat and turning into a snarl. “Means I have another chance.”
Fenrir seemed to get closer to the phone, breath heard over the speaker. "Run along little worm. Go join your friends for the next part."
And then with the click the phone hung up.
Irene’s laughter eventually sputtered out as the fighting came to a close. Atticus had some choice words for the both of them (if looks could kill, he would be dead after what he said about Jason), the exiled leader soon left them alone to regain their bearings.
As the adrenaline started wearing off, the woman started to feel the weight of everything kick in as she stood in the rain. With heavy steps, she made her way to the nearest wall and slid down into a sitting position. The cuts all along her body stung, and looking at the bloodtrail she left, she had to wonder if the damage was concerning. At the moment? Probably not. It can be future her’s problem.
Jason layed not far from her, trying to catch his breath after everything that had happened. A pit of guilt formed in her gut. It was never her intention for him to get involved or hurt, but it happened.
Setting down the knife, Irene extended her hand and gave the younger boy a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
“You did good, thank you.” His performance was impressive to her, and even if they didn’t win, they were alive.
The two of them sat there for a few moments before Irene’s attention was caught by her phone going off. Not only her phone, but Jason’s as well. Someone seemed to be trying to get their attention. So she fished out her phone, noticing the many missed texts she had. However, a couple of the names caused her to go pale in the face.
Laurie and Haleema. A threatening photo of the missing kids, Haleema’s bloody arm and leg dangling from the wolf’s jaws, and a part of a countdown from her fellow leader’s number. An 8.
By the time the count made it to the leader group chat, Lucien and Luka had already left their responses. She held her phone with such intensity she looked like she’d snap it in half. Atticus leaving and the messages getting sent was no coincidence, she was sure.
Fishing around her contacts, Irene quickly pulled up Dillon’s number and waited as the phone buzzed, waiting for a response on his end. One of her legs tapped anxiously on the ground while she muttered “come on come on!” under her breath.
Griffin was out cold. But as soon as Guinevere shifted he started waking up. With her bolting out of the room as her next action, Griffin sat up and reached out to stop her. But, she was fast. Turning his own phone over to look at the time he caught the messages they had been sent and felt his eyes go wide.
“Shit!” Griffin hissed just as Ariella started waking up. She rubbed at her face and grumbled in irritation for Griffin to go back to sleep before he too sprinted out of the room.
That had Ariella's attention. “Griff?” she called after him and sat up in her bed. She looked around for the others. Theo and Chiara were missing but Luka was up and on the phone. She turned and called after Griffin again. “Where are you going?”
“Check your phone!” was all she got in response. And Griffin was gone.
Ariella went immediately to her phone, noting the time of it being early in the morning and the text messages she received from none other than Laurie. Kidnapped Laurie. Her heart started to ache and she went to the photo that was sent. “Oh my- no please no,” She started crying covering her mouth with her hand as she stared at the photo.
Throwing the blanket off of her, she ran towards the Leader's room, following after Griffin and Guinevere.
River made it to the leader's room about the same time as a couple other people. He looked frenzied, tired, and hurt. Bursting into the room he immediately started yelling. “Answer the phone!” He managed to stop and tried to catch his breath. He looked at his phone and nodded when he saw both Lucien and Luka's responses. He pressed a fist to his lips and tried to keep calm and hold the tears back.
It wasn't working.
“We need a plan. We need to do something!” Griffin came in angrily. Worried and scared for their friends in that photo. Unsure what was going to happen to them if they weren't fast enough. He hoped they were fast enough. And if they weren't then it was time they stormed in and got revenge.
“They don’t look good. Haleema…” Ariella muttered pushing her way into the room but stopped talking when she remebered the wolf's fangs in her shoulder and leg. She leaned against the wall and shook her head.
“Laurie,” River seemed to realize suddenly. He opened his phone and looked at the photo again just to confirm he was right. “Laurie, where’s Laurie?” he asked. He sounded scared, his voice was wavering. "If they hurt him I swear-"
"River-" Ariella tried, reaching for the man. He yanked his arm away violently and glared at her. She backed away from him and let her hand drop to her side.
"Don't fucking touch me!"
More people burst into the leaders’ room, including a frantic Ariella, Griffin and Guinevere and a very frightened River. Lucien was sure more would come.
River was clearly upset, that much Lucien could see, and he started asking about Laurie. Lucien looked back at the photo, only to realise with a sinking feeling that River was like. There was no hint of his dark curls in the photo, the boy unaccounted for among the ascendants pictured with Fenrir. That was not a good sign.
Lucien immediately typed out another text, hoping to try and get some information which might help assuage River’s fears.
’Proof of life for Laurie or no fucking dice’ the boy wrote.
If they’d killed any of the kidnapped kids - which they might have done in Haleema anyway but who knew - it might not be the time for talking. It might be the time for revenge.
He looked back over at the others who had just arrived, watching as River refused to accept consolation from Ariella. This room was going to get full soon, that much he knew, especially because he’d seen a text from Luka so she had to be on her way. He hadn’t even had time to be relieved she was awake and apparently okay enough to text.
”Alright,” he said, trying to calm the shake in his own voice ”non-leaders, if the room gets too crowded some of you might have to leave. If you feel yourself panicking, step outside until you feel you can come back in. This room needs to be a place of focus right now.”
He didn’t want to outright kick them out. They’d all had texts, they were all involved. They’d seen that horrific picture and those were their friends in it. He couldn’t very well feel right kicking them out of the leaders’ room to let the leaders deal with it. They had been pulled into this already.
After breakfast, Chiara had ventured to the library to return to her studies for a little while. Anything to give them any idea on how to defeat the other exiled - though her thoughts were now particularly focused on how they might deal with the issue of Fenrir.
She did also intend to go to the training room shortly after, perhaps see if she could begin training with her non-dominant arm. She wanted to begin doing so, as well as beginning to gently and carefully rehabilitate her currently very weak right arm, as soon as possible. Her life may depend on it, and the lives of her friends. The group was only as good as its weakest link in battle, after all.
But her plans for the day were cut short in a way worse than she could have imagined.
The girl heard shouts, commotion, and from her seat in the library could hear footsteps thundering through the building. The sound pounded at her ears, tearing at her, heightened by her enhanced senses. She tensed instantly.
Chiara laid down her book without hesitation, rising to her feet and leaving the library to step out into the hallway. She stood for a moment, listening with an urgent and tense anticipation to the commotion. It took her only a moment to discern where all of the footsteps were going and she took off in pursuit.
Eventually she reached the leaders’ room, stepping inside to see a group already gathered in there. All with haunted looks on their faces.
She asked, though she already knew she would not like the answer. A terrible feeling told her it had to be to do with the kidnapped kids - it had to be that, or else events in Venice. After all, she noted, a silent and shell-shocked Dillon had evidently now returned and was seated next to Cleo.
”What’s going on?”
Clementine Lester
Clementine had been talking to Dillon when their phones started going off. Dillon's went off first, and then their own went off a few seconds later as well, and they stared at it. At the little number 10 perched as a text by Haleema herself.
They opened up the message with a quirked brow, and immediately covered their mouth in shock when the image came up.
"Haleema-" they choked out, taking notice of the others tied up. All alive and accounted for. Maybe not Haleema though, was she even alive anymore?
They didn't formulate a reply, thinking over the demand which was surely a trap. In quickfire succession, two messages were entered into the chat. One from Lucien followed by one from Luka, and they stared at the words the teens sent.
Where and when?
When and where, bitch?
Lucien burst in and sat, and Cleo didn't even have the words to reprimand him for the unplanned agreeance. What else could they do? They had to save who they could.
Instead they just nodded at him, looking away and thinking to themselves, fingers nervously tapping along their phone case. Then, many people came into the room. A desolate Guinevere who was frantically beginning to panic about Haleema's status and about Laurie, Ariella and Griffin followed her, and right as they came in, so did River, who was panicked about Laurie.
Cleo felt guilt claw into their chest as they looked upon the other, remembering that argument about why love was a weakness for a leader and about how River couldn't be with Laurie. Would they even be here if that never happened? If they looked away and decided to leave the two be?
Lucien was addressing everyone about the situation, asking them to leave if they felt panicked. They then looked up at the other leaders, Lucien was here, so was Dillon, and as was River.
"Everyone is involved," Cleo affirmed, looking at the others, "we need to gather everyone together and discuss our next move. We may be looking at a battle unlike one we've ever seen."
They seemed to pause them, taking in the presence of the other leaders...except one. Plus everyone else from the medbay was already in here. Luka had to be up, as she texted the groupchat.
She wasn't here though, for some reason, and that itself didn't seem like a good sign. They didn't comment on it though, they had bigger concerns at the moment. Instead they glanced back at Dillon and Lucien and River, nodding to Dillon "can you make an announcement? We need everyone to gather in the main meeting hall and discuss our options."
As they finished that statement, they gestured for everyone in the room to get comfortable, soon they'd get to where they needed to go. For now, they finally left their own message in the groupchat.
End your assault against our people and we'll talk.
Dillon was glad to hear Cleo working to incorporate all of the ascendants in the upcoming decision-making. All ascendants were involved.
Though their words left about in his stomach when they spoke about this possibly being the start of the biggest battle they had faced yet. He had an awful feeling they could be right, and if they were, what did that mean? They had barely survived so far without any loss of life.
Well, hopefully no lives had been lost, anyway, but that remained to be seen. That depended on the safety of those who had been kidnapped.
The other leaders asked him if he could make an announcement, and in his state of shock all he could do was mutely nod. He rose from his chair, vacating it in favour of any of the group who had just entered who might want it, before heading as quickly as he was able to the intercom.
Most of those who were remaining was already here, but still he spoke out over the device to summon the absentees, which concerningly included Luka. His own voice echoing from the intercom only mirrored the distant feeling the boy was experiencing as he tried to process everything that was happening.
It felt like someone else, rather than him, was speaking to tell everyone to gather in the main meeting room.
Luka Ravina
Luka held the phone up to her ear, her expression no longer one of terror or fear, but of complete anger. She'd dealt with so much bullshit on behalf of these fuckholes and now they had to deal with more. Why couldn't they just leave them alone?
Her name was called and she looked up at Theo, usually she'd laugh at his backwards sweater, but instead she looked at him with a glare. Not one directed at him, but at the Exiled. It softened upon seeing him, but soon morphed into an unfiltered expression of horror.
“Recovered so soon?” the voice questioned, and she was back at the Exiled base, trying to ignite a flame, caught in the jaws of death and feeling pressure. Pressure threatening to break her bones and puncture her organs and send her to join her dad in death.
She floundered for a response, backing away from Theo a few steps as if doing so could keep her friend from the deadly wolf on the phone.
She found her voice then, willing it not to shake as she spoke, aiming for nonchalant and falling somewhere into apathetic, "yeah," she whispered out, before continuing her sentence in the same tone, relying back on that snark she had, "all your hard work is gone, wolf, you failed...again."
Looking at Theo as Fenrir began to speak again, she felt a chill run up her spine at his comment. "“Your little healer friend got to you then. Good. That’s good. Means I have another chance.”
It also broke a fragment of the shock her body was pulled into, and she rolled her eyes at the comment, trying to shake off how the threat felt more like a promise than it did a threat. "You know what, I'm tired of listening to your mangy ass. We both know that despite your obsession with them, you don't have hands. So whose really behind the scenes you unwanted piece of scum fleabag?"
He wasn't done, and his growled comment echoed in her ears even after the phone was hung up. She glared at the phone as she removed it from her ear and then proceeded to go back to the leader's groupchat. A lot was happening there, and she herself added to it after Cleo sent their demand.
You know, it's almost laughable how cowardly you are. You use Fenrir to scare us and you talk big, but you're still hiding behind a screen.
She sent that message, followed by another one, fingers flying fast across the screen.
You seem to like toying with us, so let's play a game, shall we? We know Fenrir can't type, the dumb mutt doesn't have opposable thumbs. That leaves us with a select few.
Another break in messages, she thought back on what she knew of the Exiled and what they had found through the missing person's reports.
You're not as hidden as you think. Whether you're Atticus Fell or Gudrun Anker or Ripley Gates, I think you should get a better mascot than the damn furry for one, and for another, make your demands. You got a giant wolf, wooooo we get it. Can we move on to the fun stuff now? This whole waiting game is getting boring.
